Why this verdict
Holders of a biometric Ukrainian passport enter Switzerland visa-free for tourism or business for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Switzerland is NOT an EU member but is part of the Schengen area as an associated state, so the EU-Ukraine visa liberalisation applies on the same terms. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES), live since 10 April 2026, records biometric data at the border; ETIAS (EUR 20) will be required once it launches, expected Q4 2026. The 90/180 allowance is shared across all Schengen states. Visa-free travel does NOT permit work or long-term residence (Swiss residence permits are issued separately by the SEM).
