Why this verdict

Ukraine's MFA resumed eVisa issuance on 19 February 2025 and continues to list India as visa-required with eVisa access. This page answers the legal visitor-document question only; it does not imply that a route is safe or that a specific air, land or sea checkpoint is operating during martial law.

Conditional rules

  • Traveller needs to transit Ukraine rather than enter for an eVisa-supported purpose Visa required

Up to 5 days. Ukraine's eVisa categories do not include transit. A type B transit visa may be required, and each transit period may not exceed five days.

  • Trip is for work, study, residence or another purpose outside the ordinary short visitor route Visa required

Use the Ukrainian visa or residence route matching the actual purpose; the short-stay exemption or eVisa does not replace it.

  • Traveller plans to enter occupied territory or use a restricted/non-operating checkpoint Conditional

Separate special-permission and checkpoint rules apply. Confirm the exact route with the responsible Ukrainian authority before travel.
